Who are these tours designed for? Anyone looking for an authentic, Austrian experience filled with hiking and physical activity, led by an experienced hiking guide. The small group size makes this a much more personal and intimate experience than your typical big bus tours. Does your guide speak English? Yes, Karrie Gregson is an English-speaking Canadian citizen from Kitchener, Ontario, who has spent more than a year living in Austria in the past and visits the area frequently. What are accommodations like? We will definitely not be "roughing it" on this vacation! We be will staying in a beautiful guest houses, with big fluffy beds and delicious hearty breakfast served daily. While up in the mountains, we will be staying in warm rooms with bunks in alpine huts with 2-6 bunks to a room. All accommodations feature flush toilets. How many people will be in each group? Groups are limited to 6-8 hikers plus your guide for the optimal hiking experience. What if there is bad weather? They say that mountains create their own weather and experienced travelers know that you cannot control the elements. If necessary, your guide will make adjustments to the itinerary (change routes, stay longer at one location). Can I register by myself or is it only for couples/groups? Single registrants are definitely welcome! This can be an excellent personal experience and you can be sure to meet life-long friends. What kind of physical shape should I be in to participate? Please see details on our Fitness Level page. How do participants prepare for the physicality of the trip? Guide Karrie Gregson will provide you with details of optimal physical training for the 6 months before your trip. You may also decide to hire Karrie as a personal trainer. Details on our Fitness Level page. Are flights included in the price quoted? No, each participant is required to make their own flight arrangements and is responsible for all related costs.
